Johnson City TN - The Hideaway

According to Joe:

Johnson City TN was a surprise. Seemed like a ghost town at 6 PM. No one at the club. We walked to a music store just as it was closing. But the owner saw us   looking in the window and decided to stay open for another half hour while we looked around. I got a spare cable and Chris bought a kazoo. Back to club - still no one. Went to pool hall down the road, ate and drank some beers. Back to the club - finally someone let us in. Not much to do but wait. Around 10 PM some people started to show up (besides the bands). By midnight the place was pretty packed. Some old friends from up in Virginia came down. So many bands! We finally got to play at around 2 in the morning. Last call in Tennessee is at 3. Place was filled with cigarette smoke that was burning my eyes. We went over really well. Brian sold a record ammount of merch. Found a place to stay nearby.

According to Dandrew:

Johnson City, TN closes at 5 PM.   'Heather's Hideaway' opens at 8PM.   There was nothing to do so we walked toward a fire that had started down the street.   We found a music store that was technically still open and they let us in.   They had many nice and expensive instruments that we wanted and couldn't buy, but played.   This was the store where the infamous kazoo was purchased and then abused for the next week and a half (until it's untimely demise due to exposure to salt water.   R.I.P.)   I feel as though something has been missing without the kazoo.   It was the other half of 'KAZOOLOPHONE' or 'XYLOZOO,' which has covered such traditional classics as 'Pump and Circumsize.'   So in Johnson City nothing was happening and some kids drove by and pretended to shoot us so we went to play pool and drink.   We drank and didn't play pool (it was something like $3.95 an hour and $1 a person.   We were right at the height of playing pool for $.50 that week and refused to pay more.   Steve paid for darts though.)   Brian and Steve played darts and Steve cheated by giving himself points for Brian's accomplishments.   Brian took it well.   So then we went to the show which was 2 doors away and I went to find a pay phone.   After walking a few miles I passed this kid who kept staring at me as I passed.   I said 'Hello.'   He said, 'Oh I thought I knew you.'   I said, 'No, but what is there to do in this Hellhole?'   Maybe I said heckhole or city.   Anyway, he took me to a 'gaming' store where I think they play those games where you are a wizard or dragon and you cast spells on things like Pikachu and Trent Reznor.   I don't know, they let me use their phone.   Then, back at the show, the first band went on and they were called.....Um, they were a drummer and guitar/singer like the White Stripes but faster.   The next band was pretty good and they were called something, maybe the Optic Nerves.   The band after them played too long then said, 'OK we have two more songs......and then THIS guy sings.'   And I don't remember what they were called either.   We played and people seemed to like us, they clapped.   Then after we played (the kazoo debuted in 'Born Before the Internet' tonight) Joe was talking to an old friend of his, Jill, and Brian was busy selling stuff, I don't know where Chris was but Steve and I went to some diner with these two nice girls we met which I think I accidentally got to hate us.   Or me at least.   Oh well.   I didn't pay for their food.   Then we stayed at the house of the chef of the place we played where there was a boa constrictor and I heard people humping.
