I'm not really interested in going but there is an EVEN lower budget way to get to NYC than the bus. First of all I really doubt its $20 round trip to take the bus, I thought it was more like $20 each way. Take SEPTA to Trenton (see the bridge that says "Trenton makes, The world Takes", yeah right Trenton I don't want any of your overpriced durable goods) and then catch a New Jerssey Transit train to New York. The whole Sheebang is like $16. If you look up the schedules, and you end up making a quick transfer to your NJ train you can actually get there quicker than the bus too. Sometimes the buses get stuck in Traffic and it ends up taking like an extra hour. Plus I think the trains are generally cleaner and filled with more olfactoraly pleasing riders. Anyway, they'll both get you to NY cheaper than Amtrack.
